Back on Campus? Here’s How College Students Can Get a Date on Bumble

Now that everyone is back from their internships and study abroad programs, campus is busy once again. A new semester means exciting events, spontaneous nights out, and best of all, lots of opportunities to connect with new people. But it also means chaotic schedules and changing priorities. Luckily, Bumble can help with that. Keep reading to see how you can make the most of Bumble and find your next campus crush.

Refresh your profile

The best place to start is your own Bumble profile. Revisit it and make sure it still showcases your authentic self and the kind of experiences you want to have this semester. Maybe you were looking for a summer fling and now you want something more serious ahead of cuffing season. Or maybe you just want to find a date for homecoming. If there’s anything you want to change, hit the “Edit profile” or “Complete my profile” button and tweak it so it best reflects who you are.

You can update your bio, photos, Badges, and Profile Prompts. Each of these Bumble features can be used to share a little bit more about your lifestyle-like whether you prefer study dates, happy hours, or hitting up the local thrift store. Taking the time to fine-tune your profile can help to draw in the people you’ll get along with best. (More advice on how to update your Bumble profile here.)

Use Bumble’s Advanced Filters

Once you’ve thought about what you’re looking for, narrow down your search by using Bumble’s premium feature, Advanced Filters. You can filter potential matches by: verified profiles, height, exercise level, star sign, education, drinking and smoking habits, dating intention, religious belief, political preferences, and if they have or want children. Whether you’re looking for someone who wants to date casually, or someone who can motivate you at the gym after a fun night out, using Advanced Filters might just help you find that connection more quickly.

Confirm that you’re a student

Now you can confirm that you’re a college student on Bumble to receive student-only perks, like Bumble’s new college Sticker. When you add this Sticker, it will show your school’s name and let other people on campus know that you’re also a student, making it easier to make connections.

To verify that you’re a college student, open Bumble and click on the grey silhouette on the bottom left of your screen. Then, hit “Complete my profile” or “Edit profile.” Once there, scroll down and select “Education,” where you’ll be prompted to confirm that you’re a student.

Go in the Spotlight

Only have a few minutes between study breaks? Maximize your potential matches in a short amount of time by going into the Spotlight. With Bumble’s Spotlight feature (available to buy in-app or through Bumble Boost and Bumble Premium subscriptions), your profile will be put at the top of the stack for up to 150 minutes so you can be seen by more people without anyone knowing. More profile views may help lead you to more matches and chats, pus crush.

SuperSwipe Bumble profiles you really like

Now that everyone is back on campus, they’re probably also back on Bumble. With a lot of new faces to see, it’s important to find ways to stand out. When you see someone who’s just your type, don’t leave it up to chance-use SuperSwipe! It can help you make a bold first impression and highlight your profile, notifying the other person that you want to match with them. To access SuperSwipe, simply sign up for Bumble Boost or Bumble Premium paid subscriptions, or you can buy SuperSwipes individually.

Play the Question Game

If your brain’s fried from lectures and you’re struggling to think of that perfect opening line, don’t sweat it. You can play Bumble’s Question Game to get the ball rolling! From the conversation screen, just click the Question Game button (this looks like a yellow speech bubble with a white quotation mark in the center, and you can find the button to the right of the text box in any chat window) and you’ll get random, fun questions to start the chat with. When you send a question, you and your match both have to respond before either person’s answer is revealed. It’s a great way to find common ground (or spark a flirty debate). Ask them out!

If you’re messaging with a Bumble match and the chat’s going well, ask them out on a date! Be bold and see if they’re up for grabbing a coffee at that cute spot just off campus, or maybe there’s a student night out you want to invite them to. If the thought of hitting send on that message gives you butterflies, see here for more advice on how to ask someone out.

Who knows? This semester might just be the one where you find the connection you’ve been dreaming about all summer.
